We’ll start by having our lab create a custom-made set of trays for you to wear. The trays are very thin and comfortable. You can talk while wearing them, but most of our patients prefer to pop them in and whiten their teeth while watching TV or using the computer.
Once you’re at home with your custom trays, you simply add a little bleaching solution, fit them into your mouth, and relax while the magic happens!
How does it work? Well, our solution contains a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide. It penetrates your enamel and starts to lighten the stained areas of your teeth.
We’ll note your teeth’s “starting shade” before we start, because it’s fun to be able to see how much your smile will change in just a short time!
Take-home teeth whitening is a very popular option with our patients. You may experience a little tooth sensitivity during the whitening process, but it’s completely normal -- and temporary!
You will probably notice a difference immediately, and your teeth will reach your optimal shade by the end of the treatment process.
